Dr. Gaurav Kumar has graduated from Manipal College of Medical Sciences , Pokhara, an Institute of Manipal Group of colleges. This college is recognized by the British Columbia Student Assistance Program(BCSAP) & Ontario Student Assistance Program(OSAP) ,also enlisted with the WHO. He has completed his post graduation M.S. Orthropedics training from Sri Ramachandra Medical college Chennai which is also a special training center for Sports Medicine & Arthroscopy. This institute boasts of training its post graduate students in joint replacement & trauma surgery in skills lab and cadaveric surgical training.
After completing his M.S. he joined as a Senior Resident at ERA’s Lucknow Medical college as a teaching faculty. After working for an year he joined Sahara Hospital, the first corporate hospital of Lucknow where he worked from 2009 to 2012.
Teaching being his primary passion pulled him to Integral Institute of Medical Sciences & Research, Lucknow which had started a 350 bedded teaching hospital in 2012. He has the credit of being the foundering member of department of Orthopaedics at IIMSR and holds the distinction for starting all major trauma surgeries in the college and primary arthroplasty mainly in hip surgeries.
During his tenure at IIMSR apart from teaching medical students he has also achieved many milestones in doing complex trauma and joint surgeries. He also holds a fellowship in Arthroplasty from Medanta Medicity Hospital Gurgaon,done under world renowned surgeon Dr. S.K.S.Marya and a fellowship in arthroscopy from Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital done under Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala, a very reputed sports and arthroscopy surgeon who has treated many renowned sportspersons.
He now works as an Associate Professor at IIMSR ,Lucknow and holds several scientific publications to his name.
