Message by President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam on the Inauguration of Divine Heart Hospital

I am indeed very happy to participate in the inauguration of Divine Heart Hospital & Research Centre exclusively for heart care in this beautiful environment. My greetings to Honorable Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji, Prof. Srivastava, Cardiologists, Surgeons, Medical professionals and the distinguished guests. Honorable Vajpayee Ji has explained to meabout the origin of this hospital, which has arisen due to the passion of societal service of Prof. Srivastava, who has over twenty years of service as consultant cardiac surgeon, postgraduate teacher and researcher in the specialty of cardio-vascular surgery. I am very happy to see that today the 25 beds hospital is transforming into a 100 beds hospital and in a few years time this will definitely graduate into a teaching and research institution for cardiology and cardiovascular & thoracic surgery.

A number of new hospitals are being established throughout the country for heart care. A unique need is to have doctors and paramedical staff with good hearts to treat the ailing hearts. Mission And Values

History

Despite wide awareness and preventive measures, heart diseases in India have become a major health problem. In recent time, progressive changes in the social fabric, rapid urbanization leading to increased stress both mental and physical at work place as well as at home, change in life style, lack of physical exercise, excessive intake of fatty food, have increased manifold the incidence of heart diseases, hypertension and diabetes. Approximately 60 million people are suffering from heart diseases and blood pressure and more than 60 % of them are in their productive age group i.e. between 40- 55 years.

Divine Heart Hospital caters to almost whole of Uttar Pradesh, eastern parts of Bihar and Nepal, as there are very few cardiac centers in U.P. except NCR, Divine Heart Hospital stands out as a beacon for millions of heart patients in this region of India. Savings hearts can definitely save more lives, which has been the mission of Divine Heart Foundation (India).

Research

Divine Heart Hospital lays emphasis to the contribution of medical research to the growth of an organization and the medical community at large. Therefore, we conduct various primary and secondary researches within our institution. The hospital has its own ethics committee registered with the Government of India. All research projects go through the ethics committee before starting.

Hospital Campus in 90,000 square feet area i.e. more than 2 acres of land.
24 hours electricity supply and is backed up by two automatic Generator sets of 125 KVA and 15 KVA for uninterrupted power supply.
Total constructed area of the hospital in first phase measures 35,000 square feet in five floors and 83,000 square feet open area has lawn, parking and for future expansion.
